PTK, Inc. is collaborating with Nurse Practitioner, Cindy Sharp to launch a 30-day DASH initiative. The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) project is part of Cindy's doctorial nursing program at Lewis University. 30 participants have enrolled in the initiative and received a No-Salt Cookbook and a blood pressure monitor at no cost to them. The women are encouraged to track their food intake daily using the MyDashDiet Tracker app. They also receive weekly emails with healthy tips, exercises and videos to promote healthy habits.
Profit Through Knowledge is a community partner on a Neighborhood Revitalization project at the Greenbrook Tanglewood community in Hanover Park, IL. Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) is the practice of working with residents and communities to take a holistic approach to community reinvestment. DuPage Habitat for Humanity is leading this effort and partnering with the residents of Greenbrook Tanglewood, The Village of Hanover Park, the Keeneyville School District, PTK, Inc. and other community organizations and businesses to build up this neighborhood so they can achieve their dreams and aspirations. PTK, Inc. is on the Family and Education Sub-Committee.

May 2017 - PTK, Inc. Volunteers worked the concession stands at the Schaumburg Boomers Baseball Stadium
June - August 2017 - Volunteers are needed for children's summer camp at Tanglewood. PTK sponsored field trips and a pizza party for campers.
July 29, 2017 - Tanglewood Community Barbecue and Resource Fair. PTK sponsored games and fun with Boomer the mascot for Tanglewood tots and teens.
Christmas 2018 & 2019 - Adopted 5 families each year and provided gifts, food and gift cards to families in need.
Trunk or Treat 2021 - Participated in a pre-Halloween event at Spring Wood Middle School. Donated candy, hand sanitizers and protective face masks to children and parents that attended. Also donated PPEs to the Tanglewood office.
